Bubble + Spike's simple slip lead is head and shoulders above the brands that use polypropylene rope and leather snaps. First, the B+S slip lead stays where it should--high on the neck right behind the ears (the dog's power steering). The hardware keeps everything in place in a way that's comfortable for my dog, leaving enough action if I need to use leash pressure without sliding down her neck the way other slip leads with inferior snaps do. Second, it's stiffer, which admittedly took a few walks to get used to after using the polypropylene versions. I've grown to appreciate the feel of the stiffer rope because it allows me to issue miniscule pressure with very small finger movements or hand rotations that can get my recently-rescued Sheppit's attention back if her engagement wanders or gently guide her into a heel. I "feel" her more through the leash even when it's loose. I like how B+S knots the handle end of the leash which I've kept as is, but having the flexibility to change that if I want to is a nice option. To conclude, this slip lead has been a great tool to help me set Lenora up for success by walking nicely and nipping reactivity on a leash in the bud. At two years old, she was a rural stray who had no obedience training and was a disengaged puller the day I rescued her. This slip lead has been a big part of her training routine and helped me teach her to walk nicely and work with me. Definitely worth the price premium IMO.
